Center yourself:
Traditional sandbags place weight on a single tripod leg, creating an uneven center of gravity. The Gear Anchor changes everything. By centering the weight directly at the base of your stand, you achieve unparalleled stability – it's simple physics.
-
Universal Compatibility:
Works with any photo or video stand:
C-stands
Aluminum & steel light stands
Carbon fiber light stands
Any photo or video tripod
-
Customizable Weight:
Water bottles (ideal for location shoots)
Other gear (batteries, clamps, mini ball heads – maximize your load)
-
Stays Clean:
The Gear Anchor Pouch never touches the ground, keeping your ballast clean and your setup professional.

The Forces at Play
- By adding weight to the base of the light stand, you effectively lower the overall center of gravity of the system (stand + equipment + added weight). This makes it more difficult for the combined center of gravity to shift outside the base of support.
- The added weight increases the inertia of the system. Inertia is the resistance of an object to changes in its state of motion. With higher inertia, the light stand is less likely to be affected by external forces like wind or accidental bumps.
- The added weight creates a counter-torque that opposes the torque caused by the weight of the equipment at the top of the stand. This helps to balance the forces and prevent tipping.
